Set Them Free International was established in the year 2005 by an initiative of FIVE Christian leaders with an objective to serve individuals and families in local communities, drawing strength from other global diversities, resources and experience. i) Chairman, Board of Trustees Rev. Wilson Wasswa Lubega is the Vision Bearer & the Executive Director of Set Them Free International. He is also the Senior Pastor of Eagle Christian Fellowship Church in England. Rev. Wilson’s Testimony towards the initiation of Set Them Free International,“In 2004, my wife Stella was diagnosed with breast cancer while expecting our fourth child, Daniel. Daniel was born at 31 weeks by caesarean section, so she could start her treatment. The treatment was very harsh, my wife was very ill. One day, during one of the chemotherapy sessions in the Cedar Centre, King George Hospital, I was filled with so much appreciation, gratitude, praises for the hand of God, that I saw His move mightily, through the prayers and support of friends and family and the care of the medical staff. I realized how fortunate, blessed and loved I was. So it was almost like a shift in scenery: I received a notion, an urge, a conviction deep down in my spirit, about the needy in developing countries with a question, ‘Who helps them in times of sickness, education, poverty, hunger and disaster. While still pondering on the thought, My inner man spoke to me, ‘Go and Set Them Free’. “And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free”. The Word of God says,“Is this not the Fast that I have chosen: To loose the Bonds of Wickedness, to Undo the Heavy Burdens, to let the Oppressed go Free, and that you Break Every Yoke? is it not to share your Bread with the Hungry and that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; when you see the naked, that you cover him, and not hide yourself from your own flesh?” (Isaiah 58:6-7) These words are now established into a supportive NGO ‘Set Them Free International’ seeking to serve and assist individuals and families in local communities, drawing strength from other global diversities, resources and experiences. ii) Executive Director, Secretary, Board of Trustees Pastor Michael Celestine is the Executive Secretary, for Set Them Free International. He is one of the associate pastor’s working with young people and has worked as a supervisor in the retail Sector for a number of years. iii) Executive Director, Treasurer, Board of Trustees Mrs Susan Sembuga is the Executive Treasurer, for Set Them Free International. She is a Maths Secondary School Teacher and has been teaching in UK for many years iv) Executive Director for External Relations, Board of Trustees Ms Catherine Nakinga is the Director of External Relations, for Set Them Free International. She is an IT developer and is currently working with sky.
