Who is a Volunteer? A volunteer is a person who gives freely his/her resources, time, abilities, skills and enthusiasm with the aim of benefiting others in different communities. Set Them Free International welcomes volunteers from all walks of life and backgrounds. Volunteers are not required to have any previous experience in volunteering whatsoever. The organisation aims to ensure that the volunteer’s specific skills, expertise and interests are utilized and matched to the work of the organisation in its target areas of operation. Volunteers may also identify programme activities that they would like to become involved in as their knowledge and insight into the organisation grows however, changes in a person’s role description will be agreed by both the volunteer and the volunteer support person. Available Opportunities in Uganda Set them Free international Uganda is currently offering various kinds of volunteering opportunities which includes Teaching support in English, Maths, Health, Sanitation and Environmental awareness also School support, children play centre, Christmas party, Peer education, Games and Sports, vocational training, IGA Training (Income Generating Activities), healthy education and Medical Volunteering program, women group support, Home based care, Friendship linking, Community Aid Volunteering Programs and Orphanage Aid Volunteering Programs among others. We rely on donations - without which we cannot perform our vital work - and we need volunteers. We cannot list herein all the possible fields but you may wish to contact us in order to discuss further how you can contribute to the Ugandan population’s welfare through your areas of expertise. Could you consider be a volunteer to minister, in a practical way, to the Ugandan local population. We are looking for enthusiastic Volunteers with a sincere inspiration to help those in need in Uganda-Africa. Note: You should be in reasonably good health due to the hot environment and conditions in Uganda. It is also important to be flexible and patient, as it may take longer than you expect to accomplish just about anything. Are you interested? NB: When Volunteers are coming to do any service work with us he/she should carry light clothes for the heat time and rain coats in case of rains, other things to consider are construction gumboots, jeans, sun hats and sun glasses. Health: the volunteers need to have proper medical check-up from their local doctors and carry with them malaria preventive drugs, vitamins, etc.
